A star-studded group of nearly 100 celebrities calls for filesharers to be disconnected.

Nearly 100 of the biggest names in the film and television industries are calling on Lord Mandelson, Business Secretary, to push through controversial measures that would see persistent internet pirates disconnected.

In a letter to The Times, Hollywood stars including Bill Nighy and Richard E Grant say that the internet is being overwhelmed by a “tidal wave of digital theft” amounting to “wholesale distribution of illegal material”.
